[Cleveland, Ohio] We visited the Cleveland Art Museum today. As a kid, I used to find the hall of armor boring. I can't say that I'm riveted by weapons, chain mail and plates layered to cover 80 or 90% of a soldier's form. But the artistry and attention to details that went into such functional pieces speaks volumes. Not only for the men going into battle or protecting their king, but for their horses. I also couldn't help but be impressed - on a finally bright day in Cleveland - at the quality of light in the hall, largely created with windows. |
